New Possibilities In Parenting ~ Guest, Debra Ann Afarian

Let’s Talk Wellness ~ with Host, Mara James

What if behavioral challenges are about something completely different than what you think they are?  Mara welcomes Debra Ann Afarian this week, to share her powerful story and how it inspired her to create a movement to help parents understand and empower their children.

Debra Ann is the Founder and CEO of the non-profit, Helping the Behaviorally Challenging Child (HBCC).  HBCC provides Parenting Classes, and trainings for educators and healthcare providers focused on understanding children with behavioral challenges through a new lens.

HBCC trainings in Collaborative Problem Solving® in Orange County, California provide effective, evidence-based ways to reduce adult/child power struggles and conflict. HBCC also networks as a clearinghouse to help families connect to Support Groups, Learning Centers, Service Providers and Advocates who embrace rethinking conventional approaches to behavioral difficulties to strengthen relationships and teach skills.

Debra Ann is passionate about sharing her experience, strength & hope and is currently learning how to incorporate CPS behavioral goals into IEPs, 504s and for any child in the radar who is not meeting behavioral expectations!!

"Let's Talk Wellness" was inspired by the desire to share the HUGS for Life Healing Center with the world! The mission of the HUGS center is to bridge the gap between medical professionals and approved holistic healers. Extraordinary Lives Foundation is excited to share the many amazing healers and practitioners that are part of the HUGS  center as an invitation to change the ideas and conversations around mental health.
