Empowering Mothers Through Pregnancy, Childbirth and Beyond ~ Guest, Carrie Cesario
Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
Pregnancy and Childbirth can be two of the most challenging events a woman can go through. Added to that is the concern for helping baby have a positive and healthy start. And then there is everything that comes after childbirth. This week, Mara welcomes Carrie Cesario to share about her amazing work supporting women to have empowered pregnancy and childbirth experiences, in turn, fostering greater connection and confidence for mother and child in their relationship.
Carrie has been a birth professional since 2011, teaching Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis and working as a Hypno-doula. After 7 years of birth work, a passion for empowering women, and to better serve the birth & postpartum communities with rapid healing options for the best possible start to motherhood, Carrie began her studies to becoming a certified clinical hypnotherapist through the Transpersonal Hypnotherapy Institute in 2018. She expanded further and gained certification as a Conscious Parenting Method & Life Coach in 2020 so that she could continue her work with women and families long past the postpartum period.
Combining her “conscious parenting” of her own children since picking up Dr. Shefali’s book ‘The Conscious Parent’ in 2015, with her birth professional journey, Carrie has many years of experience under her belt doing this "work”; in addition to being trained by Dr. Shefali herself, and walking this amazing journey to serving women and families. She also trained in Gabor Mate’s trauma-informed Compassionate Inquiry method to better serve her clients with trauma related healing needs.
Carrie firmly believes that birth work, Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Conscious Coaching and Compassionate Inquiry fit together perfectly - they all bridge the gap between the psychological, physical & spiritual aspects of the human experience, allowing her to meet each of her clients exactly where they’re at and guiding them toward healing, growth and authentic/conscious living.
Carrie offers two signature programs: Conscious Recovery Program: Life & Birth Trauma Healing, &, Boundaries: For HSPs, Empaths & Beyond - which combine all of her skills, techniques and gifts for rapid, effective, mind-body-spirit healing.

Behavior & Tantrums in Young Children ~ Guest, Laurie Glickman
Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
One experience of a tantrum with a young child is usually enough to send most people running (or at least make them want to run). This week, Mara welcomes Laurie Glickman for a conversation about things to know, and some practices to help with, unhappy behavior and tantrums in young children.
Laurie Glickman, MSW has been working with children ages 0 – 5 for the past twenty years.  She is currently an Infant Specialist/Child Development Specialist at ICEC in Irvine, California.  Her clients are infants and toddlers with a known or suspected developmental delay in one or more in these areas of development: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive skills, speech and language, cognition as well as social-emotional skills. The therapy includes play therapy, language stimulation techniques, as well as parent education and training.
Working with children requires a unique set of skills to connect with various personalities and age groups.  Laurie is confident that she has a level of intuition needed to understand the needs of these children and their families.  She knows that having a sense of empathy and sensitivity (depending on the physical and psychological background of the child and caregiver) along with behavioral management skills can only set these children and their families up for success.  Patience, creativity, enthusiasm, passion, compassion, and dedication are imperative in her practice.
You can reach Laurie at lrglick53@gmail.com for questions on your infant-toddler’s development or information on parenting/behavioral techniques as well as your child’s mental health.

Bipolar Is Not a One-Size-Fits-All ~ Guest, Gabe Howard
Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
There is an interesting tendency to look at bipolar through a ‘one-size-fits-all' lens but do you know any two people who are exactly alike? This week, Mara welcomes Gabe Howard for a conversation about his experience and history with bipolar disorder, and his finding what works for his recovery process, as well as helping others find what works for them – because bipolar is not a one-size-fits-all at all.
