Healing Our Self ~ Guest, Martha Bowers

Let’s Talk Wellness ~ with Host, Mara James
Healing is personal for each one of us.  Join Mara as she welcomes Martha Bowers for this week’s conversation about the personal nature of our healing journey, and how quickly we can release what creates the dis-ease in our bodies and our lives.
Martha Bowers is a Personal Coach and is a participating Healer with the HUGS for Life Healing Center.
A few years after the breakup of her first marriage, Martha had her wake-up call as she realized she was deep in emotional, physical, and spiritual turmoil and could not carry on avoiding the dis-ease this life event caused her.  As she explored various therapies and healing modalities, many of which, although helpful, the processes themselves cause significant distress.  In time, Martha finally found something that allowed individuals to experience change faster than anything she had personally tried.
Martha was so impressed with the Goran Technique, also known as the Seven Steps to Reprogramming Yourself, she added a certification to her repertoire and began using it in her coaching practice.  The results she and her clients experience are nothing short of amazing.  Within just one session, you can start shifting your emotions and release what has been blocking you and keeping you from the life of your dreams.
You can find more with Martha on her website, at https://marthabowers.com/ and on Facebook @marthabowers999

Deep Healing with Hypnotherapy ~ Guest, Choury DeVelle

Let’s Talk Wellness ~ with Host, Mara James
Are you curious about Hypnotherapy?  Mara welcomes Choury DeVelle to talk about what Hypnotherapy is, and how it can contribute to our healing process.
Choury is the founder and CEO of Orange County Hypnosis Center.  He has worked in this capacity for the past 10 years.  Choury received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1987 at the University of Redlands in Redlands CA.  He later studied hypnosis at Kona University in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and became a certified clinical hypnotherapist.
Choury has written two books about his journey of self-discovery and has devoted his life to developing a method of talking to the subconscious mind.  For lack of a better term, he calls this method ‘Bio-feedback’ because the process allows the subconscious mind to be heard through the physical body and it often tells the therapist what modality will be the most useful in treating the patient’s condition.  This process utilizes many traditional insights of classical and modern psychology with ancient but very effective techniques used by the healers of India known as the Vedantic and Tantric methods of releasing negative emotions.  The results of these combined techniques  have been overwhelmingly successful in reducing issues related to memory loss, PTSD, Bi-polar, OCD, Manic behaviors, Alcohol, smoking and Drug Addiction, Anxiety and Depression.
Choury says there is an unlimited potential that exists within each of us. "My job as I see it, is to bring this awareness to all who are seeking a better way of living.”

A Physician’s Experience with Mental Health and Holistic Healing ~ Guest, Dr. Kenneth James

Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
What is it like to have a loved one receive a mental health diagnosis?  This week, Mara welcomes her husband, Dr. Kenneth James to the show to talk about some of his experiences having mental health diagnosis in his family.
Dr. Kenneth James is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist practicing in Orange County, California. He has been in private practice since 1998. He comes from a proud family of OBGYN’s being the fourth of seven (his father is the first and his son is the 7th). Dr. James started a collaborative physician-midwifery program over 5 years ago and now his vision is being modeled by multiple medical groups and several hospitals all over the county. His alternative practice style combined with his outlook to the future of medicine has made him a leader in the field.
His involvement in mental health, beyond his training in medical school and dealing with patient’s highs and lows of their lives, peaked when his wife experienced a significant manic episode. He was guided to use both traditional medicine and holistic healing therapies to aid his wife in her recovery,  Inspired by his wife’s experiences on her incredible healing journey, Dr. James was able to heal his own mental health issue of severe bouts of anxiety.  By way of hypnotherapy with a HUGS healer, he experienced immediate and profound results and has been free from anxiety from that moment on.  His life forever changed and he became a true believer in alternative healing.
Dr. James proudly supported his wife in bringing the inspiration of her personal experience to the world with the creation of the Extraordinary Lives Foundation and the HUGS for Life Healing Center.  Both ventures are aimed at early education, management and treatment options for multiple mental health challenges using both  traditional and alternative healing options.
