Building Your Mental Health Muscles ~ Guest, Wynford Dore
Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
Research is revealing more about the link between mental health and brain development, which is actually cause for some excitement.  This week, Mara welcomes Wynford Dore to share his incredible story of experiencing a crisis that led him to helping people conquer mental health issues by building their mental health muscles.
Wynford Dore is on a mission to transform the way we think about mental health. His journey began with a profound personal experience when his daughter faced unimaginable struggles, and an attempt to take her own life. Determined to find solutions, Wynford redirected his focus from successful business ventures to brain research and education. Wynford is renowned for founding Zing brain development programs, demonstrating his commitment to increasing mental capacity and unlocking the full potential of every individual.
For over two decades, Wynford has spearheaded research projects and collaborated with leading academics to revolutionize brain development strategies. His approach centers on creating mental strength and resilience, challenging the notion that mental health issues are insurmountable. Through Zing Performance, Wynford offers innovative solutions tailored to diverse audiences, from children grappling with learning difficulties to adults seeking personal growth, to seniors looking to maintain brain capacity, wellness, and longevity.
At Zing, Wynford's pioneering methods activate the cerebellum, a crucial brain region linked to both motor and cognitive skills. By engaging in specially designed physical exercises, individuals can stimulate cerebellar function, leading to improved cognitive abilities and emotional well-being. Wynford's work extends beyond theoretical frameworks; it's rooted in real-world impact, as evidenced by numerous success stories and scientific validation.
In addition to his work at Zing, Wynford serves as a board member of The REACH Institute, further amplifying his impact on mental health advocacy and education.

The Power of Coregulated Parenting ~ Guest, Rachel Steinmetz
Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
One of the big challenges of parenting is to keep personal stuff from interfering in your relationship with your children; easier said than done for most parents. This week, Mara welcomes Rachel Steinmetz for a conversation about empowering parents with tools and practices for self regulation, that in turn help them support each other and their children.
Coregulated Parenting is a philosophy and workshop founded by parents of four, Rachel Steinmetz, Parenting Coach and Tim Steinmetz, former Early Childhood Educator. The Closed Caption Method, developed over the years through in depth field research to test and refine its application is centered on the principles of co-regulation, which emphasizes the importance of caregivers managing their own emotional states to effectively support and connect with their children.
Rachel and Tim strongly believe that caregivers' own regulation and healing are crucial in fostering a healthy and symbiotic relationship with their children. This approach teaches the tools needed for parents to grow alongside their children rather than in opposition to them, helping to create a nurturing and understanding environment for both parties.

Empowering Mothers Through Pregnancy, Childbirth and Beyond ~ Guest, Carrie Cesario
Let's Talk Wellness - with Host, Mara James
Pregnancy and Childbirth can be two of the most challenging events a woman can go through. Added to that is the concern for helping baby have a positive and healthy start. And then there is everything that comes after childbirth. This week, Mara welcomes Carrie Cesario to share about her amazing work supporting women to have empowered pregnancy and childbirth experiences, in turn, fostering greater connection and confidence for mother and child in their relationship.
Carrie has been a birth professional since 2011, teaching Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis and working as a Hypno-doula. After 7 years of birth work, a passion for empowering women, and to better serve the birth & postpartum communities with rapid healing options for the best possible start to motherhood, Carrie began her studies to becoming a certified clinical hypnotherapist through the Transpersonal Hypnotherapy Institute in 2018. She expanded further and gained certification as a Conscious Parenting Method & Life Coach in 2020 so that she could continue her work with women and families long past the postpartum period.
Combining her “conscious parenting” of her own children since picking up Dr. Shefali’s book ‘The Conscious Parent’ in 2015, with her birth professional journey, Carrie has many years of experience under her belt doing this "work”; in addition to being trained by Dr. Shefali herself, and walking this amazing journey to serving women and families. She also trained in Gabor Mate’s trauma-informed Compassionate Inquiry method to better serve her clients with trauma related healing needs.
Carrie firmly believes that birth work, Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Conscious Coaching and Compassionate Inquiry fit together perfectly - they all bridge the gap between the psychological, physical & spiritual aspects of the human experience, allowing her to meet each of her clients exactly where they’re at and guiding them toward healing, growth and authentic/conscious living.
Carrie offers two signature programs: Conscious Recovery Program: Life & Birth Trauma Healing, &, Boundaries: For HSPs, Empaths & Beyond - which combine all of her skills, techniques and gifts for rapid, effective, mind-body-spirit healing.
